Daily Acts, CCNB Corpsmembers and The Water Folk pose after installing four L2L Systems and fruit trees at Mustang Acres, a nonprofit farm for persons with disabilities. |
Hi there Daily Actor, Last month, our Programs Team completed thirteen laundry-to-landscape greywater installations at Petaluma residences through our LRP Program, diverting more than 35,000 gallons of laundry water into landscapes this year and every year from now on! These installations were completed in under 2 weeks thanks to our collaboration with Conservation Corps North Bay (CCNB) Corpsmembers completing the on-the-ground installations and technical support from The Water Folk. |

We’re already gearing up for our next installations at La Tercera Park and School this fall, like the ones we completed at Miwok Park and Miwok Valley Charter School this past spring. (Click on the links to check out the install videos! 👀) |

At La Tercera Park, we hosted a community engagement session last month to hear what people who live near and use the park would like to see in the landscape designs. At La Tercera School, 10,000 sqft of lawn was sheet mulched this summer in collaboration with CCNB, and The Water Folk helped install four rain tanks that will store 8,000 gallons of rainwater that will be used on site! Stay tuned for community planting days at both sites this fall. In our busiest seasons, a quote that our Founder and Executive Director Trathen often refers to is “I’m so busy today, I’m going to meditate twice as long” by Gandhi. Despite our non-stop month, our team prioritized time to relax and rejuvenate at Morton’s Warm Springs for our summer staff retreat. |
