Garden Steward Volunteers Dylan, Edwin, Ben, and Jean enjoying time together pulling weeds and bermuda grass in the garden at La Tercera Park!

Dear Daily Actor,

It’s been a busy summer rooted in community partnership as we give our newest demonstration gardens some love, install seven residential rainwater tanks, and prepare to install fifteen residential greywater systems - all through our Land Resilience Partnership Program. Read on for details:

Our public demonstration gardens at La Tercera Park and School, Miwok Park and School, and McKinley School recently received some much-needed TLC in collaboration with Conservation Corps North Bay (CCNB) and Rebuilding Together Petaluma Works (RTP Works)!

Together, we refreshed these vibrant spaces by applying mulch and tackling weeds and Bermuda grass.

We love working with organizations like CCNB and RTP Works that offer paid opportunities for our community to develop valuable green job skills. Thanks to everyone who came out and helped ensure these beautiful gardens continue to establish and thrive as living examples of climate-resilient landscaping! Read more about these park and school gardens on our website.

Meanwhile, our Programs Team is in full swing working to complete seven residential rainwater tank installations! We're grateful to long-time Daily Acts supporter Chris Reamer of Alt Water for leading these installations, and to our trusted partner, Sonoma Resource Conservation District (Sonoma RCD), for their design, technical expertise, and construction oversight. Plus, a big congratulations to Jessica Pollitz on her recent promotion to Engineering Director at Sonoma RCD!

Later this summer, we’ll be working with The Water Folk to install fifteen residential laundry-to-landscape greywater systems, continuing to empower our community with local solutions for drought and climate resilience.

In the meantime, we hope you’ll attend one of our upcoming events and take a moment to welcome Gabi Wolfe, our newest Programs Coordinator, to the Daily Acts team! Get to know her in the spotlight section below.

We are thrilled to introduce Gabi Wolfe, our newest Programs Coordinator who joined the Daily Acts team in July:

New to Petaluma, Gabi is looking forward to deepen community connections and explore how we can better care for both people and the planet. With a passion for creating vibrant outdoor spaces, she is excited to focus on water-wise landscaping, reintroducing native species, and designing biodiverse environments that support a sustainable future for all living beings.

Thank you for helping us spread the word about this job opportunity!
